Small Business Myths
Myths are part of everyone’s life; they exists around the globe. Each culture has its fair share of it. Most of the time, legends can be for fun; some sort of stories to tell and entertain. However, when it comes to business, you might want to avoid it. Some myths about small business may discourage or make you ineffective. Still, it is best to know some from the list, and maybe learn a thing or two from each.
More Free Time
Most of the people who quit the 9-5 job want to have more free time. Often, you would hear these people say that they would build a business instead. While there is nothing wrong with that, establishing a small business won’t give you the free time you desire.
For the first few years of the business, you might need to work longer than your regular 40 hours a week in a corporation. When you have the regular job, you are being paid even if you do not do well in a day. Starting your small business means you need to do well or you won’t make ends meet.
However, if you make it sooner than later and are able to hire people, then you can have flexible time that you wish for yourself.
Best Way to Get Rich
Another reason that people want to build a business is that they want to get rich. No, it does not guarantee financial independence. It is possible, but there are also lots of easier ways to achieve that than creating a business.
Rent an Office
An office is not necessarily advisable if you are just starting up. You can work from home or go to coffee shops. Renting a space is not something you would want to spend on at the start of your business path. Instead of paying the rent; use the money for it to do more for your business. By the time that you know you can already handle the expense, then look for offices.
Big Risks are Not Big Rewards
There are lots of people who believe in the notion of no pain, no gain. In business, this pain may send your business downhill. A big risk does not necessarily mean a big reward. Know your battle; it is wise to admit the capacity of the business.
When you think of starting up your business, one of the things you should not avoid is insurance.
